This data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau which determines the percentage of veterans in a city with disabilities by dividing the total number of veterans with disabilities by the total number of veterans in the "civilian population over 18 years for whom poverty status is determined." The data are from Table S2101 for VETERAN STATUS American Community Survey 1-Year Estimates which gives the total civilian veteran population 18 years and over in major U.S. metropolitan areas as well as breakdowns of demographics and the numbers of those with disabilities.
